Hi Everybody
This is for news of every description regarding the Havanese breed. Show results "hot" topics, concerns and issues.
Did you all know that the Kennel Club has a list of " accepted " colours that it uses when registering a Havanese litter. 3/4 of the colours that a Havanese pup can be are missing! This list was taken from the most common colours used in the last 10 years. No consultation with anybody apparently, although they do quote when asked that this list was drawn up with the consent and approval of the Havanese Club of Great Britain. A concerned breeder contacted the club and was told that the club knew nothing about it.
A letter listing ALL of the possible colours, combinations and markings has been sent to Caroline Hallett at the KC requesting the colours to be added to the KC "approved" list. So come on all you breeders out there that have the diverse bloodlines to produce the fabulous Havanese colours - get your letters into Caroline to get these colours put back on. Who knows what other genes we may lose if we don't keep the diverse colours going.

Lynda I shall co sign any letter with a list of colours we think will come from future breedings, I know the USA are also having issues regarding the blue pigment....

Now for all you Hav people out there that show your Havs - Show News!
During the month of May we have Newark Open Show on May 1st, B'Ham National Champ Show - 6th May , SKC Champ show 23/5, Coventry Open Show - 23/5, Bath Champ Show 28/5.
The Havanese Club of GB has its AGM on 23/5 at Nether Whitacre Village Hall (off J 9 on M42).
Entries are closing for Windsor Champ Show on 10/5, Beverley Open on 15/5, Blackpool Champ on 17/5 and Peterborough Champ Show on 21/5.
Fell free to post on here any news show wins or any other good Hav news.
